A new year!

Well, now that Christmas is winding down, it's time to talk about New Year's resolutions. Fresh starts, new directions, what's next? I think this is an appropriate introduction for the next season of our lives...

You see, we are laying down everything we have to take a family mission trip for 6 months. Jordan resigned from his job, we're renting our home, and we're packing for warmer weather (at least to start). We are traveling to Kona, Hawaii be part of a Discipleship Training School(DTS) with Youth With A Mission (YWAM)~ man I feel like I'm back in the world of education with all of these acronyms. The focus is Jesus Christ, and spreading the gospel around the world. Mark 16:15 says, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation." So, we're doing it! We'll make our home in a small apartment on the mission base in Kona for a 3 month "lecture phase" and then we'll be traveling for a 2 1/2 month "outreach phase!"

There are so many questions to ask. So many "what if?s" or "how will that work?s" but I'm doing the best I can to relinquish all of that, keep peace in my mind, and focus on the wonderful adventure at hand.

Because, I want to be a family who travels. I want to be a mom who can take her kids to new places and sleep in one room. I want to train my kids to serve and give their lives away. If I'm honest, I don't necessarily want to pay the cost always, but the small sacrifices we are all making will surely reap huge rewards!

So, the packing is almost done, the house is feeling a bit empty, and we are READY to go on this once in a lifetime adventure! If we cross your mind, please pray for a smooth transition for the girls. And keep following my blog, because although the posts may fall farther apart, things are sure to get a bit more interesting from here on out!

Christmas Day!

MERRY CHRISTMAS DAY!

Christmas morning presents were set and ready the night before.
We didn't quite know how the morning would go. Would Raegan be up early and roaring to rip into the gifts? What happened was quite comical...
With the family room door closed, we had coffee, then breakfast...
...and read books and played a while, waiting for everyone to wake up...
It was so strange because she kept commenting on how we were all ready for Christmas!

Then, when we were all ready, we opened the door and she was shocked at what she saw! She just didn't have any previous memories of what to expect. But, guaranteed, after this 3 year old Christmas of wonder, there will be plenty to remember for next year!

World Series Champs!

"The Awesome Meter Never Lies"

What's inside? A new bag!

It was funny t-shirt morning...

Grandma and Grandpa showing Raegan the Giants Bobblehead dolls! Her favorite, of course, being Tim Lincecum.

Princess dress up! Raegan got a trunk full of dress up clothes from my parents, and literally squealed with excitement!
And all of the princesses!

Anabelle's very first Christmas present ever. A doll from Uncle Chris!

My sweet Christmas princess!

Raegan kissing each of her new princess dolls!

New Hurley hat.
Who's your daddy?
Anabelle popped two more teeth on Christmas. She has been working on the top middle FOUR for a while, and they're all coming in. So, she actually did get her two front teeth for Christmas!

"Open a present with Gramma, and play together!"

December 23rd

"It's time to drive to Gramma and Grampa's for a white Christmas in Ellensburg!"

The first thing we did after pulling into my parents house was zip up our snow-suits and hit the deep backyard snow! There were several inches, and it was perfect for snow angels...
...eating...
...and making a snow man!...
(my beautiful mother)
taking a quick break~
Our cute lil' country snow man.
(pre-nose, Grandpa was on his way home from the grocery store with the carrot, but we couldn't wait to run inside and get warm again.)

December 22nd

"Boley Family Christmas~
Open the gifts under the tree, from our Iowa family!"

Raegan was SO excited to start tearing wrapping paper up! It's almost excruciating for a 3 year old to see presents sitting under the tree and not rip into them... but she made it! We tried to skype our Iowa fam, but were not successful. Still a fun night of opening gifts and being thankful for family.

December 21st

"Crank up the Christmas tunes, it's time to wrap some gifts!"

Raegan was my special helper and, after a few presents, had her taping skills down to an art. Have you seen these new tape dispensers!? A little pink container on an elastic band that neatly dispenses one perfect strip of tape at a time. Oh yeah...
Everything about the holidays is so much more enjoyable with little ones around~ down to the scotch tape.

December 19th

"Doughnuts with Gramma!"

"Date Day~ A Christmas Story in Seattle for mommy & daddy... and a surprise visit from GRANDMA for the girls!"

Maybe it was the twinkle lights up and down the chilly streets of Seattle.
Maybe it was the enchanting musical numbers and sold-out theater.
Maybe it was the first time I'd showered AND worn perfume in a while.
Whatever it was, it was magical.

December 17th

"Girls date to see the Nutcracker Ballet!"

We grabbed a couple of friends, and hit up the dress rehearsal. This is a brilliant plan if you've ever got a 3 year old who dreams of becoming a ballerina, but doesn't quite dream of sitting still long enough to see an entire ballet. Can't you just see the sugar in her pinky toe, ready to explode!?

The girls got to watch our sweet friend dance on stage, and then talk to her afterward! She was "famous" in their eyes after that... as if she wasn't already!

The next day...
...yep, daddy is wearing a headband in the background. Raegan dressed him up "pretty" so he could be a ballerina too!

Not quite a baby.

My baby isn't quite a baby anymore.
My baby is standing on her own now.
My baby claps her hands and dances to music.
My baby plays games and laughs hysterically.
My baby, Anabelle Jean!
My baby is into everything.
My baby entertains herself for 30 minutes at a time in her pack n' play!
My baby has two teeth, but there are more on the way.
My baby has only been alive for 9 months,
But my baby is going to be ONE soon.
My baby is going to be the baby for quite a while still.
But my baby isn't quite a baby anymore.

"Get on your Christmas dress, it's time for the preschool party! Sing pretty, songbird."

What a fun morning. Miss Debbie and Miss Christina have made such an impact on the Boley home this fall, and it was such a treat to celebrate with the whole crew. Everyone looked so fancy, and it was really entertaining to watch each of our little friends perform.
Jingle Bells was a favorite.

A few of the fans...
